Staithes

Longhouse

In Staithes, near Whitby

Longhouse is a unique property in the very heart of Staithes, just seconds from the Staithes beck. Probably dating from the mid 19th century it is full of character with whitewashed walls and a pantile roof. It has seen many changes in its time, from a fisherman's cottage, to a Sunday School to a Dame House, then a Boat Store and now a holiday cottage.

Longhouse has been recently renovated to a very high standard with quality furnishings, beamed ceiling, panelled walls and a wood burning stove, this small (but long) house has much charm.

The house is built along a hillside and has two floors.

Unusually for Staithes, this house has an integral lockable garage only suitable for a very small car, canoes or motorbikes.

Adjoining the house is a small sunny garden with table and chairs, relatively private and south facing, ideal for relaxing and al fresco dining.

The house is fully centrally heated and not reliant on the wood burning stove for additional heat.

Longhouse is just seconds from the Beck and only minutes through quaint passageways and cobbled streets to the harbour.

We are sorry, but due to the nature of the property we cannot accommodate smokers or pets. Please enquire if you want to bring young children.

All fuel, heating, towels and linen are provided along with a welcome bottle of wine on arrival.

Prices from £550 to £700 per week depending on season.
